Audi R8 4.2 Quattro Front in Auto Expo 2010 India
Audi has turned 100 years old now and the Germans are busy announcing it at every auto show, in style if we may add that.
How could one of the biggest Auto Shows in the world, the 2010 Auto Expo be any different? So, Audi India enthralled crowds at the auto expo with an eclectic mix of automobiles, a premium mix of both the new and the old and legendary.
The sizzling hot Audi R8 super car was there and the crowd was falling all over itself to take a long hard look at the low slung rocket of a supercar. Another car which attracted plenty of attention was the Audi 225 Roadster from the yester years. Audi, like it’s German peers BMW and Mercedes Benz seems to be high on the sportback design with Audi showcasing the Sportback concept.
Other cars in the Audi pavilion were the models like the Audi Quattro 3.2 and the Audi A6 3.0 TDI currently sold in India. Both the big SUVs,the Q5 and the Q7 were there too.
Yes, Audi will go ahead and launch the Audi Q7 4.2 TDI. The raw power and torque generated by the big diesel engine will make the Q7 the most powerful in the market. A limited edition Audi A6 2.7 TDI, built exclusively to celebrate 100 years of Audi also shared the spotlight at the Audi pavilion. We have written about the Audi A6 2.7 TDI some time back.
Audi India also made a few interesting announcements at the Auto Expo. Audi India will jumpstart the production of the Audi Q5 in India from 2010. This move will make the Audi Q5 SUV a few lakhs cheaper, and this naturally will mean that Q5s will fly out of Audi showrooms.
Audi India is also planning to introduce an extended warranty scheme for existing as well new owners, thus making owning an Audi lighter on the pocket, not to mention the peace of mind only an extended warranty can give.
