Rajinikanth's magnum opus Enthiran, directed by Shankar and produced by Sun Pictures, opened on October 1, and Chennai city had a festive look about it.
The first show of the film was screened in Chennai simultaneously in many suburban theatres around 5.30 a.m.
Rajini's fans had collected around theatres like Kasi and the newly-opened AGS Royal in Vilivakkam from midnight.
After conducting pooja of the print box, aarthi and paal abhishekam of the huge cut-out outside the theatre, the shows started.
