Most expensive, biggest and fastest is the mantra that world's richest people follow. There is no end to their million dollar buys and lavish spending. Some do outrageous spending on insignificant things while some have a class of their own and buy things that define their personality. Roman Abramovich
Owns: $1.2 billion Yacht.
Roman Arkadyevich Abramovich, Russian businessman who owns the private investment company Millhouse LLC. He is the ninth richest person in Russia and the 53rd richest person in the world, according to the 2011 Forbes list, with an estimated fortune of $13.4 billion. Abramovich owns the world's largest yacht called 'Eclipse'. The 557-foot boat was bought at a price of $450 million which now holds a price tag of almost double of its original price, $1.2 billion, after a slew of show-off features, two helipads, two swimming pools and six-foot movie screens in all guest cabins, to a mini-submarine and missile-proof windows to combat piracy were added on to the boat. In fact, the boat also has an anti-paparazzi 'shield' which has lasers that sweep the surroundings to detect a CCD. Once a CCD is detected, it immediately fires a bolt of light right at the camera to obliterate any photograph. According to the Times, these don't run all the time, so friends and guests should still be able to grab snaps. Instead, they will be activated when guards spot the scourge of professional photography, paparazzi, loitering nearby.
Paul Allen
Own: $200 million Yacht.
Microsoft's co-founder, Paul Allen made headlines when he bought the world's largest yacht in 2003 called 'Octopus'. As of now, it is world's 12th largest super yacht. Octopus is a 414 foot. It sports two helicopters on the top deck. The yacht also has a pool, located aft on one of her upper decks, and two submarines (one of them operated by remote control for studying the bottom of the ocean). The yacht can accommodate about 24 guests and a crew of 35. It also consists of a movie theatre and a Hinckley sailboat of about 40 feet.
Phil Ruffin
Owns: $70 million Boeing 737 jumbo jet.
King of Gambling, real estate and oil production, Phil Ruffin owns a Boeing 737 jumbo jet. Phil has a net worth of $2.1 billion according to a magazine of 2008. The Boeing 737 carries an additional price tag of $16 million for the interiors and the entertainment system. It has lavish leather upholstery for the seats and has two bedrooms. The entertainment system is about $1 million worth.
Truett Cathy
Owns: $250,000 Batmobile.
Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, a fast-food chain is worth $1.3 billion. He is a huge fan of superhero vigilantes. In 1992, "Batman Returns" film was released, Batman's Batmobile impressed Cathy big time. Since then he made it a point to own it. Cathy bought it for $250,000.
Hassanal Bolkiah
Owns: $14 million Rolls Royce Convertible.
Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei is a huge car frenzy king. He owns more than 1,900 automobiles, including Bentleys, Ferraris, and Porsches. The Sultan is the owner of 531 Mercedes-Benzes, 367 Ferraris, 362 Bentleys, 185 BMWs, 177 Jaguars, 160 Porsches, 130 Rolls-Royces and 20 Lamborghinis, bringing the total number of cars he owns to 1,932. Rolls Royce convertible that he bought for $14 million, is the most expensive car in the world by far.
