Earlier on Indiancarsbikes we reported about the new generation, ninth to be precise , Honda Civic. Which will be headed towards Indian shores after its launch by 2012. Now, we’ve got hold of some spy shots of the new car that were taken on German roads a few days back.
Although the car is heavily disguised, we can still make out the steeply raked windshield from the 8th-gen Civic. Proportions of the car compared to the old one cannot be judged from the picture. One design tweak is certainly the omission of the quarter glass behind the A-pillar. Overall, you do get the impression of the Acura ZDX from the rear door-handles that have been moved up above the waistline.
Honda follows a strict 5 year redesign cycle for its Civic. That means, the ninth-generation would be due soon. Originally, the car was designed to be larger than the outgoing version, as has been the evolution throughout the past eight generations.Just as the final design for the next Civic was submitted, Ito called the project off, demanding the car be more compact and efficient.
